Job Opportunity: Development and Communications Director

Salary: $50,000-$70,000 

Location: Soldotna, AK

Overview:
The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank invites applications for the position of Development and Communications Director. This senior leadership role is critical in advancing the organization’s strategic initiatives, fostering robust community partnerships, and enhancing our communications efforts to support our mission of alleviating hunger.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic business development plans to secure funding, cultivate partnerships, and expand organizational impact.
• Oversee all facets of internal and external communications, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team dedicated to executing business development and communication strategies.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with donors, community stakeholders, and media outlets.
• Analyze market trends and industry best practices to inform strategic decision-making and innovation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience. 
• Proven track record in business development and communications, ideally within the nonprofit sector.
• Exceptional strategic planning, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining a commitment to excellence.
• A demonstrated passion for community service and a commitment to the mission of the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank.
