Independent Living Center Summer Work Program
KPFB was a host organization for the ILC Summer Work Program. We hosted two high school students this summer of 2024, and were so impressed with their work and people skills. We look forward to being a part of the program again next year!
Catching for a Cause
The Marathon Kenai Refinery held an incredible fundraiser benefitting the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank, called Catching for a Cause this summer. The proceeds from the event will fund feeding our neighbors across the peninsula for over a month! Thank you so much to the sponsors, donors, volunteers, staff, vendors, and to Marathon for your incredible generosity and dedication to feeding those suffering from food insecurity!

Return of the Reds
Nate Berga, the City of Kenai, and the Kenai Chamber of Commerce put together an event to celebrate the return of the red salmon and benefit the food bank. Thank you to everyone who participated in, funded, attended, and gave at the event!
Project Homeless Connect 2023
KPFB and many other agencies participated in this year's Project Homeless Connect to help those suffering from homelessness in our community. Thank you to everyone who donated to and volunteered for the event!
Feeding Pets too!
Food Bank of Alaska sent KPFB pet food, and we sent a large portion to the Kenai Animal Shelter. Food banks not only feed people, but pets too!

Art Auction and Spring Festival 2022
The Peninsula Clarion was there to document our first ever art auction, which featured mostly artwork from Alaskan artists. They also talked about our annual Spring Festival.
Nikiski Shelter of Hope
Greg attended the ribbon cutting of the Nikiski  Shelter of Hope on May 20, 2022. KPFB has been partnering with the shelter by providing food, clothing, and more. We were so excited for their official opening!

Praying Pelican Missions
Thank you to the Praying Pelican Missions for volunteering in our garden and kitchen on May 31 and June 1! They worked hard planting potatoes, tilling land, cleaning up, serving food, and more.
KPFB Progress Days and HELP Program 2021
In 2021, the food bank hosted an incredibly successful Progress Days event, raising over 1 ton of food! We also had our HELP program, which featured both online and in-person educational opportunities to help reduce food insecurity on the Kenai Peninsula.

Friendly people work here and they always have a warm welcome and smile to all who are in need of the services offered. It’s hard to live a life of poverty and be in need of food items to just survive from month to month, but the employee’s and volunteers who work here make the struggle of having to do so easier to live with. To All of you who take the time to make this process just that much easier for all of us who need this help, I personally want to again say Thank You from the bottom of my Heart. You All Rock… And So Much More. It’s been a personal Honor to have come to know each of you over the years and rest assured, we will always remember you. Very very nice workers. They make me feel very welcome in times when I need food. The lady that works she has worked there for a long time she is a very very sweet lady. And has always been so sweet to me when I come there. I want to thank them in times of need. They even give me cat food when I needed it.

This is my second trip to the food bank and thankful and grateful for having any type of food to help me get to release tough times my food stamps ran out and they haven’t replaced them so it helps me a bit so I don’t have to spend out of pocket for all of my groceries

Well run charitable organization. Helps those in need of proper food for a large area of SW Alaska. Volunteers are very friendly, caring people who try to do all they can for anyone who comes there.
